About

I am a freelance writer taking on all projects big and small for a variety of publications and clients from a delicate cottage in Stirling, where I live with my family. My qualifications include a BA (hons) in English Studies and Scottish Literature from Stirling University, an MLitt in Creative Writing from Glasgow University, and a second MLitt, in the Literature of the Highlands and Islands, with UHI.

As the journalist for a local newspaper I covered location-specific news on the Isle of Lewis; as a journalist for Bahrain’s national English-language newspaper, I covered a wide variety of topics and interests relevant to the Middle Eastern country. I have written travel articles for South African and Scottish magazines, and pieces on weddings for Scottish Wedding Directory. During my time at Glasgow University I also served as the Editor-in-Chief for From Glasgow to Saturn, the Creative Writing department’s renowned literary journal.

At the moment I put my finely-honed research skills to use by writing blog posts for private clients, as well as articles for medical, travel and events management companies. I am currently seeking new clients.
